| What’s your name? | Patrick James Dean (not named after the actor, named after my uncle James Dean who is a steam fitter in NYC.) |
| What do you do? | I make tattoos at Neptune Tattooville, 225 rt 35 Neptune, NJ |
| What makes you unstable? | There are so many things that make me unstable. To name a few... This absurd system of nonsense we have to live within... Interacting with humans on a daily basis... Pondering my existence in an expanding universe and how any number of routine, inane tasks have any real bearing or impact. Acknowledging the pointlessness of it all makes me unstable. |
| What makes you go? | Surf, Spearfishing, Playing music, Making Art, Nature on an intimate level and Finding the truth. |
| What makes you stop? | So many things make me stop. I make conscious decisions everyday to resist, refuse to participate, agree and accept the mountains of noise, debris, visual pollution and human pollution in my path. I'm so sick of it all. |
| Describe your other? | My other is a beautiful, kind hearted woman. She has an overflowing heart, full of thoughtfulness and affection, I am lucky to have her. |
| Animals? | I like animals. some are good for pets, others are good for eating. I hunt, kill and eat deer, pheasant, quail, rabbit, woodcock, stripers and blackfish. |
| School? | |
| Go ahead rant for me… | I think I've done enough ranting already... |
| Spawn? | I think everyone should have one child, to see what its like. the ups and downs. but only ONE! humans are destroying the earth, we should limit our numbers before the earth does it for us. |
| Inspiration? | I find inspiration from many sources. Art, Music, Nature, Daily observations, etc. |

| Draw me the way you see me… | I made the artwork with this idea in mind.
What does FU mean to me. It made me think about people in this world who have made severe impacts, both good and bad, while being
Fundamentally Unstable. Immediately I thought of Hitler, Stalin, Charles
Manson, Dahmer and Osama Bin Laden to name a few. All of them evil and negative.
Then I thought of some positive people, such as Miki Dora, Johnny Cash,
Timothy Leary, Jackson Pollack, Lou Reed and Salvador Dalí.
I chose to use Stalin for several reasons. The first is that he was responsible for the deaths of millions without showing a shred of remorse, but he was also responsible for stopping
Hitler's advance during WWII and actually defeating him back into Berlin.
Even the Allies did not accomplish this. So I find him a poster boy for FU, he was a certified lunatic who destroyed generations of human beings, but if he had not existed, the Germans could have conquered the world.
I am not saying he was a good man, but he played a pivotal role in possibly saving many more lives from the holocaust and the war in general.
Being Fundamentally Unstable is like a Yin and Yang, both creative and destructive.
It can be positive and negative, sometimes at the same time… |
