Well it’s our first road-trip . The FU banner will be flying high @ the BAJA 1000. Talk about away to kick it off. We are fully pumped and ready to go on with what will truly be an adventure, just like starting this company.
The Baja 1000 is INSANE!! It is a no rules, balls out race that starts Tuesday @ 5am in Encinitas Mexico and finishes Wednesday in Cabo San Lucas. Think Chinese downhill on steroids for a 1000 miles with no track… pure chaos.
Our FU team will be charging non stop for 32 hrs, only stopping to pit, change riders, grab a Powerbar, and hit the head every 400 miles. I will be trailing in the Fundamentally Unstable Ford 150 with Lexis Nexis founder Author Swartz making sure that we all make it to Cabo San Lucas; tired, beat up, Dusty, but ALIVE.
Our two Riders are Frank Carfaro and Mike DeJohn. True New Jersey chargers in their on right and soon to be tested to the nines.
Frankie Holmes is a great friend and an accomplished rider. We are lucky to have him promoting our brand. His furniture company DESIRON was started as a idea to use his head and his hands and he created something dope. Mission accomplished!!! You would never believe that his first sales were in a NYC flea market. Check out the website desiron.com he’s gear is everywhere. He’s a great athlete, accomplished marathoner, and has been training heavy duty for Baja 1,000.
Mike DeJohn’s story is an inspiring one. A few years ago Mike was stricken with
Hodgkin's Lymphoma. To his credit he beat it and now is stronger than ever and is charging everyday. The Baja 1000 is a true test for most, but for Mike it’s minor. He’s just glad to be here. He’s been through hell and back and no matter how, when, or were we finishes the fact that he is riding, and for us, is all that matters.
This is what the Baja 1000 & Fundamentally Unstable are all about. Not caring!!! Answering your inner call!! Going to the desert and racing to the checkered flag. There are no prizes, no purse, no endorsements on the line, just the fact that you made it 1000 miles through a desert driving for 32 hours straight.
Whether you are from Dirty Jerz, the left coast, or Beijing China. FU represents this inner spirit. A spirit that drives us to throw caution to the wind, go to Mexico, and prove something to ourselves.
Life is funny. We are a lot of things to a lot of different people, BUT it is what we do for the inside that keeps us stoked, alive, and wanting more. It’s about being REAL.
